SCS Software has just announced on their official blog that next week they will be ready to announce the launch date of the Iberia DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 . Also, they promise that the release date will be sooner than we think .
“Road to the Black Sea” was released in 2 days compared to v1.36
Does this mean that Iberia DLC will be launched in a period of 1 or 2 weeks? Considering that SCS has just released update 1.40 for both ETS2 and American Truck Simulator, with the new lighting system, it is possible that the launch will occur shortly. In ETS2’s latest DLC, Road to the Black Sea, they released update 1.36 on December 3, 2019 and the DLC was released on December 5, barely 2 days after the update.
Galicia on the cover of the Iberia DLC
Spain is divided into several Autonomous regions, which gives the country a wealth and cultural variety of the most diverse: Catalonia, the Basque Country, Andalusia or Galicia are some of the most recognized for having their own language, accent and cultural identity. Galicia is known, mainly for its good food , especially seafood , its good wines and “The way to Santiago”.
As a curiosity and detail, which has gone quite unnoticed, we want to highlight the presence of Galicia in the Iberia DLC, both on its cover and on the official map (which will include the cities of Vigo, A Coruña and O Barco officially with stops, but that will have the recreation of Ourense and possibly Pontevedra, Santiago or Lugo). As for the cover, you can see the famous Rande bridge, in the city of Vigo, which joins the Vigo estuary with the Pontevedra estuary, as can be seen in the following image and although they may look like different bridges, they must mention that it has undergone a reform in 2020 that has meant the addition of 2 new lanes to the bridge.
We must also highlight and praise the great level of detail that SCS has put into this Iberia DLC, since I have circulated hundreds of times through the intersection seen in the image above and I can say that it is one hundred percent true to reality. You can then see the same intersection in Google Maps 3D mode (even if the bridge is not visible).
